about me
As you might have already noticed, I am a multi-faceted creative with decades of experience as a graphic designer and art director, brand designer, copy editor, proofreader, indexer, writer, and theatre maker. If that sounds like too much for one person, it actually all boils down to two things: words and images. And even those taken together come down to one thing: storytelling. Whether it is by staging a play, compiling and index, or creating a company logo, I help people and companies tell their stories.
With more than 25 years experience in graphic design and branding, I have also published two books for PSS!, an imprint of Penguin Random House. In addition to my work as a dramaturg, playwright, and performer, I also hold a PhD in Theatre and Performance from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. There, I worked as a managing editor, proofreader, indexer, and historian of U.S. musical comedy. I have published writing on African American theatre and performance, and comedic racialized performances in early 20th century vaudeville and variety shows. I have taught in theatre programs at the City College of New York, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and other universities in New York City.
